In the 1999 growing season we planted 40 acres of BMR under flood irrigated conditions at a rate of 50 to 55 lbs. per acre. We fertilized with barnyard manure from a nearby dairy. We planted the 15th day of July and cut in 65 days. Our plant height in 65 days was near 60 inches. We watered back and 2 weeks later we turned 32 cows and 2 bulls in on it. We pastured it out. Feeding the BMR through the winter of 1999 we were surprised to see cows prefer BMR over Alfalfa, Red Top Cane or Oat Hay. I would highly recommend BMR to anyone. We plan on planting 140 acres this year.
