In 1997 and again in 1998, I planted Nutri+Plus in test plots along with a standard type in a test directed by Colorado State University Extension Service. Each pilot was grazed with Cow/Calf pairs. The results were quite surprising to me. The cattle grazed the Nutri+Plus each time before any other variety. In fact, they grazed the Nutri+Plus to the ground before any other variety was half used up. According to Hardin, as the cattle were turned into the field containing the two different types, they would circle the field, testing the forage then they would graze the Nutri+Plus until full and then go into the standard type and so selective grazing. Also the cattle would return to the water and loafing area much sooner when grazing the Nutri+Plus, as they did not have to be so selective to fill. The regrowth was very good.
